1993 Mercury 75 2 Stroke won’t start when cold

I’m having starting issues with a 1993 Mercury 75 carbed 2 stroke, right now the only way to get it to start when it’s cold is a shot of ether, I just changed fuel filter, emptied all fuel from tank and lines, and put a new set of spark plugs in but it’s still hard to start when cold, it runs like a top once it gets going and will start right back up when warm but when cold the only thing to help it out is a shot of ether. I saw on another thread about sea-foam carb cleaner and figured I’d give that a shot…. And from the other other thread I can hear the enrichment valve clicking but will double check to make sure…..I’ve never taken carbs off an outboard but think I’m up to the task just trying to avoid it….Thanks for any other suggestions…….
