2006 Honda Warranty Question

I have a 2006 Honda BF225 placed in service in June of ’06. I have found a Honda press release that indicates a 5 year warranty was in effect from the “2006 boat show season” and extended thru March 31, 2007. Honda is denying a warranty claim saying my motor only has 3 years coverage that expired in 2009. I also found old threads on THT promoting the extended warranty in 2006.

Anyone run into a similar situation. I am not the original owner. Does anyone have a good contact at Honda??
