34 Yellowfin Boat Test Today

Here’s a new post from 34 Yellowfin Boat Test Today :

I had the opportunity to fish today off of Cape Hatteras, NC with a good friend of mine in his 34′ YF with twin F350 Yamahas. Well, to start off let me say this, this boat is definately a nice boat and I wouldnt hesitate to buy one. Now the seas today were Hatteras 6 footers with a lot of swell in it, in other words, it was a strong running swell, not a lazy roller and not a windsea and our average cruise speed seemed to be about 18-24 knots into the headsea and this was really working the throttles. Going out was a beamsea and we made really good time and got absolutely soaked(but any boat would have today). We tried to push it to “get up on top” like I’ve read on here a million times and it was impossible, while toying around with speeds we almost washed the curtains off. The fishing was pretty good too as we ended up with 5 nice yellowfins to break the ice on this fishing season, and released a bluefin of about 150 lbs..I shot some video of running in the headsea that I’ll download when we get home next week. Its kinda bumpy, but you’ll see the GPS speed and the ride of the boat (which was quite good)in such conditions. The Outer Banks sure is a windy spot, today is the first day we’ve been able to fish since we got here on Sunday.
