prop question when limping home on one

I have this idea. I have twin 225 E-tecs on 28′ hydrasport c.c. say 9000lbs. loaded my props are 14 1/4 x 19 . S.S. . 4 blade , they are fine, My question is , Limping home on 1 motor I can only do about 5-8 knts staying under 3000 rpm ( strongly suggested by my dealer) I thought if i changed the prop on the running motor , as if it now a single engine set-up ,would i be able to get up on plane say maybe 15-20knts @ say around 3000 – 4000 rpm without putting damaging strain on the motor ( so i would have a set of spare props for loosing an engine situation ?? how can i figure this out
